New Labour has comprehensively failed the British people in all facets of their lives. The debased, crude and systematically biased indoctrination of students in our Education system, the opening of the UKs borders to mass uncontrolled immigration symbolize their total inadequacy to address the concerns of its citizens. It would seem the Government is consciously acting against the interests of its citizens. Labour has lost control of the Home Office, sent our troops to Afghanistan and Iraq with inadequate protection and military hardware, presides over a failed Police force which is both demoralized and politicized, abandons pensioners to their fate, fearing to venture out at night, left in poverty with inadequate care as well as an NHS system which is massively over-burdened .

As if that was not enough, the British people have witnessed an insidious and intolerable rise of militant Muslim extremism weaving its way into our society which is totally unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated. The Government has broken its Covenant with the British people and has consequently betrayed them. A good example of this would be the refusal of the Gurkhas the right of residence into Britain and at the same time the fawning appeasement of Muslim extremists.

Instead of responsibly integrating immigrants into our society by encouraging the use of the English language, instilling a sense of Patriotism and pride in our culture and British way of life, New Labour has actively encouraged multiculturalism and led to the propagation of ethnic ghettoes in the UK where a sense of British identity, culture, values and way of life are spurned.

The banning of Bibles in hospitals as Muslim patients complain about them, polygamous marriages being recognized in some cases by the Dept of work and Pensions in order to access multiple benefits for wives and spouses despite this practice being outlawed in the UK, the banning of Nativity plays and Christmas celebrations in our schools are alarming examples of how disconnected the Government has become from the core beliefs of the British people

British values are based on tolerance and justice, freedom of speech, womens rights, social justice. Britain extends all religions the right to practice their faith as long as they obey the Law and do not seek to undermine our Country. The Government seems to have forgotten the values which have been fought for over generations.

The existence of the EDL serves to remind the Government of their responsibilities to the British people by actively seeking to deny Muslim extremists a voice and suppressing their ability to promote their agenda.

I fully agree with the principles of the EDL and will actively support them in the promotion of their cause.

hi
im a muslim, part english part arabic, and i believe that the edl are right in some aspects
i hate militant islam and dont want to be seen by anyone as an 'extremist' because of my religion.
similarly i think that disrespect of our troops is awful, and people should feel the highest privilage in being in this wonderful country.
i respect the fact that the edl is a very anti-racsist group, but the media has portrayed it as an extreme far right group.
i do not participate in marches due to money first off and because i simply feel it isnt media friendly enough, also i wouldnt call myself EDL
im not a fully pledged member of the edl but agree in its views in banishing militant islam.

There have been some inaccurate articles appearing in the British media recently attempting to paint the EDL (English Defence League) as a far right and racist group. I believe the time is well overdue to put the record straight.

I understand the EDL is a non aligned non Racist political movement born out of the disgraceful scenes witnessed at the Luton home-coming of the Royal Anglian regiment in April 2009. I understand the EDL and EDY have a completely open membership criteria and count Asian and black people as active members united in their desire to deny extremist Muslims a voice and suppress their ability to implement Sharia in Britain.

Trevor Phillips, the then Head of the Racial Equalities Commission has been calling on the Government for years to abandon multiculturalism. Future good community relations will be better served if the New Labour Government abandons its disastrous policy of multiculturalism which in practice is Segregation or British Apartheid by any other name. An urgent shift toward a policy of Integration is required to counter cultural exclusion by way of encouraging the wide-spread use of the English language, banning all Sharia Courts in the UK, curtailing the Dept of Work and Pensions practice of extending social welfare to partners engaged in polygamous marriages, preventing schools from banning Christmas festivities, encouraging a sense of Patriotism and pride in a British identity, teaching British history, cutting off the funding of extremist Muslim schools and religious bodies which are at odds with the British way of life.

Re-dressing the political imbalance created by the UAF (Union Against Fascism) and acting as a counterweight to a Socialist movement underwritten and funded by Government politicians and Unions is an absolute priority. Nobody is at issue with the UAF in opposing Fascism or Racism. It is inappropriate for any political movement to receive State taxpayer funding whilst postulating as a Government funded militia and taking orders at its behest. The UAF does not criticise its New Labour paymasters nor will it condemn Muslim extremists in case they too should be perceived as Racist. I am also at issue with the UAF Socialist ideology and the spurious legitimacy they claim by styling themselves as the sole arbiter on the subject of Race. It needs to be demonstrated to the UAF that there is no monopoly on the discussion of Race. A more modern and relaxed attitude toward Race should be promoted in the UK. The hysterical accusations and relentless hounding of any British person who happens to be at odds with their ideology leads to them being labelled a Racist in a crude attempt to silence anyone who speaks out. Personally, I will not be silenced. I think the UAF should be held responsible and accountable for the lamentable deterioration in Race relations as well as fanning the flames leading to the recent rise of the BNP.

New Labour Government Ministers have appeared on National Television condemning the EDL as a far right and Fascist movement yet those same politicians are currently being investigated for misappropriation of Parliamentary expenses. The Government has misjudged the widespread revulsion and resentment the British people feel for a Government that uses British soldiers on leave from active service in Iraq or Afghanistan to redact their unwarranted expenses. The soldiers who were working on the Parliamentary expense claims were doing so on a minimum wage in order to fund body armour to protect their lives on active service. This material is issued to American forces as standard kit. In the absence of listening and acting on to the concerns of the ordinary men and women in Britain, I hope the EDL will continue to plan public demonstrations and take to the Streets of Britain until their voice is finally heard.

I am committed to Democracy, Freedom of Speech, Racial Equality; Gay & Womens rights combined with encouraging a truly meritocratic system where all British citizens no matter what their background or race can take part in and be proud of. I stand by the EDL.

 20 DECEMBER 2009

I have often asked myself the question why Britain needs the English Defence League (EDL)?

As the New Year approaches I started looking back at the unfolding events since the Royal Anglian home-coming of April 2009 and synthesising ideas in my mind which I now convey to you in writing.

The disgraceful scenes in Luton characterise the state of Britain today as a fractured, broken, dystopic society, a Britain where our service men and women are required both to possibly lay down their lives in service of their country in Iraq and Afghanistan and counter Muslim terrorism in those countries. Yet, upon returning to Britain after tours of service, our troops are confronted with Orwellian scenarios featuring abuse by British born Muslim extremists. Despite this, the New Labour Government will use all legal means at its disposal including application of public order offences to silence those who speak out against this hypocrisy. The Liverpool Christian hotel owners became victims of a New-Labour campaign against them by starting a debate with a Muslim woman which was construed as offensive. The case collapsed last month.

As British troops have no public voice or right of reply to criticism or abuse and as the New Labour Government seem unwilling or unable to defend them, the significance of the EDL became clear.

Socialist New Labour has decided to prosecute its wars for political expediency in both Iraq and Afghanistan but it seems to lack the appetite to support our troops. Our troops have been put into combat situations lacking basic protective clothing or making necessary adjustments to armoured personnel carriers. Members of the Coldstream Guards appeared at Sloane Square station, London in 21st December 2009 on behalf of the families of dead soldiers to ask for charity to pay for the funerals of dead servicemen. Wounded servicemen are routinely sent to NHS hospitals and not admitted into military wards but mixed with civilian patients where they are not treated with the respect and attention they deserve by military medics and nurses. Recovering servicemen were forced to use a public swimming pool in Leatherhead Surrey and were abused by members of the public as they wounds appeared unsightly and were asked to leave.

On the other hand, New Labour can extend funding to extreme Muslim groups such as Hizbut Tahrir and other similar institutions as witnessed in the recent London scandals unearthed by the UK press. The New Labour Government presides over an expenses feeding frenzy in Westminster and when confronted with the receipts, redacts them, blocks all transparency and resists any punishment of the MPs responsible. The New Labour Govt also seems content along with Unions such as Unite and Unison to support the UAF (Union Against Fascism) with tax-payers money enabling them to pursue their Socialist agenda on the streets of Britain.

Each week more and more shocking and startling scandals appear creating an ever widening gulf between the Government and its people. The lack of control in British Universities is aptly demonstrated by the Muslim perpetrator of the attempted plot to blow up the North West airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day 2009. The Muslim student was a UCL (University College, London) engineering graduate, one of Britains leading academic institutions. It is common knowledge that UCL and LSE (London School of Economics) act as incubators in the radicalisation of Muslim students yet the Government once again appears paralysed and impotent in the face of political correctness and its desire to appease Muslim extremists. This is not the first time a British resident Muslim has featured in international and domestic Islamic terror plots though once again that fact is air-brushed out.

Conversely, the UAF were very active at Loughborough University inflaming tensions in the week leading up to the EDL Nottingham rally in Dec 2009 painting the EDL as a far right Fascist and Racist movement, all at the tax-payers expense. Despite the extensive funding of the UAF, the elite core of EDL internet bloggers combined with British Patriots willing to take to the streets will create the perfect storm with which to sweep away this duplicity and treachery.

It is now more than clear to me why Britain needs and will continue to need the EDL in the face of a Government that elects to alienate itself from the British people. I hope the EDL will plan a full 2010 calendar of demonstrations not only in major British cities but widen the scope to include rallies outside the Home Office, Unison and Unite Headquarters as well as the UAF headquarters to name just a few locations.
